First day of Schaumburg’s Prairie Plein Air Competition, and the weather is fine :). I’m working indoors today, but I did make it out to have my panels stamped in preparation for outdoor painting next week. These events are so fun – I get to meet artists in person that I only know online, like Maggie Capettini last year and Kate Burlette today! We get to make artwork between now and May 11, and the reception is at the Prairie Center for the Arts on May 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. I’m looking forward to seeing artists there, and in action over the next two weeks.
I had a great time at the Prairie Plein Air reception last night! Thanks to the hosts and sponsors for putting this very cool event together. “Spring Valley Meadow” took first place in an impressive and beautiful group of paintings. So much fun meeting the artists and organizers, and recognizing little spots around Schaumburg in the work. Check it out if you can! The show will be on display during the Prairie Arts Festival this weekend, and will remain for the month of June.
Happy spring everyone, here are my upcoming events! Hope to see you there.
- Prairie Arts Festival: Saturday & Sunday, May 27 & 28, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Schaumburg, Illinois
- Glenview Art League Summer Art Fair: July 29 & 30, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Glenview, Illinois
- Art in the Garden: August 19 & 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Glenview, Illinois
I just had five-packs of postcards printed, featuring detail images of my paintings. Every pack includes each of the cards shown above. The back is blank, so they can be mailed. There is small text in the corner with my name and contact information.
I’ll have the cards at the fairs, and you can also find them in my esty shop for $10 a pack (free shipping).
