This piece is my entry to the 2015 Art Post Gallery “Art by the Inch” contest. The theme was “the written word”. I just returned from the well-attended opening reception. Always fun to see so much variety in the 90 entries. I’ll put a couple photos below. All 90 paintings are for sale through the gallery for $150 each.

I just spent some generous Christmas gift cards on a sturdy new easel for the art room. The travel easel will now stay packed and ready to go on more frequent plein air painting trips. I followed Carol Marine’s instructions for making a small panel holder, and it’s working great so far. This one was made on a heavy white piece of particle board I had downstairs, but it was so easy I might make a smaller, lighter one for outdoor use.
