Oil paintings from the summer

Posted on

Time to catch up! In July we went on a fantastic trip to Bay de Noc in Upper Michigan at the invitation of some wonderful friends. Christy and I painted en plain air on the beach, and then on the porch. These two paintings are what I came home with. Check out Christy’s great work below. It’s always so cool to painting in good company, and see different perspectives and approaches. I used a tiny semi-homemade pochade box fixed to a tripod. It’s a $5 craft store wooden box fitted out with a plexi palette. It worked quite well and is very portable. Good times!
