Another foliage painting – working on these feels like laying out in the sun and grass. The color on this one is especially vivid. Could be an animal trail through the undergrowth. Fox, woodchuck, rabbit. Could be just the way the grass is falling. Not a trail for me. Somewhere I have a book by outdoorsman and ranger Tom Brown, called Field Guide to the Forgotten Wilderness. I wonder what signs and stories he would see, looking at this same patch of ground.
