Oil Painting of the First Strawberries

Posted on

6 by 6 inches, oil on hardboard

Almost the first. I was keeping my eye on the first strawberry as it ripened but a robin or squirrel got it. Bird netting is deployed now, so hopefully the resident humans will get a few more. I’ve been wanting to try a quilted jam jar like this since admiring David Lloyd’s painting of one.

Great and sweet painting! Love the jar, and how you placed the very fresh looking strawberries.
