Oil Painting of Ramps

Posted on Updated on

12 by 9 inches, oil on gessoed hardboard

These ramps (aka wild leeks) came in the vegetable box from Fresh Picks last week. I’m debating – potato soup or quiche? The red, green and creamy white make a nice combination. A lot of color was bouncing around the bowl, inside and out, and the countertop, too. Think they still read as white?

Yes, they look white but with all the wonderful nuances of reflected light! Your work is beautiful!

Thanks for your feedback! The effects of light are so much fun to paint.
