First up is my entry for the Daily Paintworks Lincoln Challenge. I used ultramarine blue, burnt umber and white to mix the (mostly) neutral grays from dark to light (option A). Whenever I’ve tried portraits, they go through stages of looking REALLY freaky, and this was no exception. It turned out better than I feared.

Sten is making sweet music with the Hungry Fathers Band tonight, so I worked on this while watching a movie with the girls. They each finished a painting before bedtime, and I only forced them a little. Just kidding, they wanted to. I mean it.

Meredith did a vibrant, happy portrait, but not of Lincoln. Can you guess who it is? And if so, can you guess what logo is on his t shirt? Holly started out doing many small portraits, and things colorfully snowballed from there.
