Green Apples, White Bowl II

Posted on Updated on

6 by 6 inches, oil on gessoed hardboard

I tried this bowl of green apples again. One change – I used regular oil paints with solvent instead of the water soluble ones I’ve used for the last year. See any difference? More intense, right? Less pasty? That’s my opinion, anyway. I’m not sure about having solvent around, especially in the winter with the house closed up. I need to do a little more research.

Wow, there is a big difference. Wish clean up wasn’t such a stinky pain… Both beautiful pics Deb

You know, I’m using Gamsol odorless mineral spirits and it hardly smells at all. I don’t have the best sense of smell but Sten hasn’t noticed. I’m still concerned about air quality, though. Thanks!
